children & youth
In our church we believe that all children and youth are an integral part of the community. Our prayer is that they know they are loved and that their faith has room to grow as they grow into being exactly who God created them to be.
There are a lot of wonderful ways for them to be involved in the life and ministry of the Church as themselves or alongside their grownups.

FAITH HOUR SUNDAY SCHOOL
FROM 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM
Sundays, during the School Year all children and youth are encouraged to join in. Faith hour is time spent with a Biblical focus, helping our youth to become familiar with the stories, timelines, and characters of the Bible. The two age groups are taught by faithful volunteers and coordinated by our Children & Youth Coordinator.
Faith Hour also has a mixed age Adult Class that meets at the same time.

There are materials to help with engagement before and during worship for all Children & Youth available in the Narthex (back of the Sanctuary).
MOMENT FOR YOUNG DISCIPLES
As a part of our regular 10:30 AM Worship service Children & Youth of ALL ages are invited to come forward for a moment focused on connecting them to that day's scripture and message. As it concludes younger children and youth will be invited to Children's Church while older youth remain in the Santuary for Worship.
CHILDREN'S CHURCH
Children ages, 4 yrs to 5th grade, are invited to go upstairs during worship for a study of the day's scripture and activities to learn more about our lives as Disciples of Christ! Youth 6th grade and older will remain in worship able to make use of the worship materials if they choose.

YOUTH GROUP
Our Church participates in an ecumenical (Churches that come together in Christian unity & cooperation) Youth Group for those youth ages 6th to 12th grades. We partner alongside several other churches in and around Newark through the Newark Area Ministerial Association (NAMA). They meet at different churches throughout the school year.
Our own church youth also meet periodically throughout the year for special service opportunities and fun!

CHURCH CAMP
Our Church participates in Church Camp through the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Ohio at the regional campground of Camp Christian.
We encourage all youth, able & willing, to go to Church Camp each summer. There are opportunities from Family Camp to Adults to attend Camp!
